Rancho Penasquitos Little League

ABOUT US

Rancho Peñasquitos Little League is a baseball organization for children of league age 5 to 14. RPLL serves kids and families who live within the boundaries of  Adobe Bluffs, Canyonview, Deer Canyon, Los Peñasquitos, Park Village, Rolling Hills, Sundance, Sunset Hills, and Willow Grove Elementary schools. This includes residents of Santa Luz, Collins Ranch, some parts of Torrey Del Mar and Black Mountain Ranch. We have a Fall and a Spring season. Registration for the Fall season opens in August.  Games are played from September through November.  Registration for the Spring season starts in November and assessments for Minor B through Juniors divisions are held in January. Teams are drafted at the end of January, and practices start in February. Games are played from early March through early-to-mid June. RPLL also has Challenger Division for children league age 5-18, with physical and intellectual disabilities.

Practice and Game Information

Tee Ball, Farm, and MAPS teams have two events per week, one weekday and one Saturday. All teams start with two practices per week and then transition to games. All practices and games are at parks within Rancho Penasquitos. The pre-season practice schedule is usually consistent; once games start, the days and times vary.

Minor B teams will have two to three events per week, one or two weekday and one Saturday (teams are guaranteed 2 events per week, if there is field availability there will be a 3rd added). All teams start with two (or three) practices per week and then transition to games. Once games begin, there will be one weekday and one Saturday game, with potential for one weekday practice (based on field availability).

Minor A, Intermediate, and Junior teams will have no more than three events per week, two weekday and one Saturday. All teams start with three practices per week and then transition to games. All practices are at parks within Rancho Penasquitos; there is potential for games to be played against another District 32 Little League team (all within the San Diego area).

Equipment

RPLL provides a jersey and hat for each player.

Players provide their own baseball pants, socks, and belt (belt optional; color of pants, socks, and belt is determined by each team's manager); glove; bat; helmet; and cleats (soccer cleats are ok for baseball, baseball cleats are not ok for soccer). For the younger players, teams will have bats and helmets to use, but some families prefer not to share a helmet.

All males are required to wear an athletic/protective cup.
