The Major division is open to Little League ages 9 – 12 year olds. Major players will face a faster pace of play than Minor A and the complexity of baseball fundamentals are expanded. Major division is played on a 46/60 field. All players must attend a skills assessment to be included in the draft.
An end of year playoff tournament will be held in this division. RPLL may submit tournament and All Star teams from this division. The All Star teams are eligible for the Little League Major Division World Series Tournament.
Per Little League International Regulation IV: "Any player who is League Age 12 must be permitted to play in the Major Division." **Please ensure you have identified if you will only allow your League Age 12 year old player to play in the Major division; see registration form to make your selection.**League Age 12 year olds who only wish to be considered for Majors will be guaranteed a spot in the Major division, per Little League International. All other League Age players will be placed based on assessments, space availability in divisions, and the draft.League Age 12 year olds who wish to be considered for Intermediate are *not* guaranteed a spot in the Intermediate division. Little League age 12 year olds who have not drafted to an Intermediate team will be placed on a Major team. League Age 12 year olds who are drafted to Intermediate are still eligible for consideration for the Major All Star team. Little League age 11 year olds not drafted to a Major team will be placed in the Minor A draft.
League Age 10 year olds not drafted to a Major team will be placed in the Minor A and/or Minor B drafts.
Teams will generally meet three times per week for practices and games.
NOTE: Friend, carpool, and manager requests are not considered in this division.
